Terenzuola vineyards spread across various terroirs in a unique scenery tightly set between the Apuan Alps, Versilia and the Cinque Terre. In a land well-suited for grapes cultivation since time immemorial, red grape reigns in the valley where the predominant soils' composition is made of silt and clay, while white grape spreads mostly on hill grounds where sandy grit soils prevail. Preserving the landscape is a moral imperative for Ivan, considering the presence of such variegated grounds. The nature of these grounds has a deep impact on the planting process. In Fosdinovo, as well as in Castelnuovo Magra, the rocks which compose the hillside structure belong to two tectonic layers: the first one which is made of dark clay, sandstone, lava and tuff; the other one, called Flysch, is made of different types of limestone. The cultivar over here are Vermentino, Vermentino Nero and Canaiolo which compose the wines with the Colli di Luni PDO label. These same varieties are grown in the Caniparola lowland too, which is composed by lignite deposits. Candia centennial vineyards, seated at the base of the marble quarries between Massa and Carrara, have a different exposition but the soil composition is the same. Among the white grape indigenous vine varieties there are Vermentino, Albarola, Malvasia, Trebbiano Giallo, Trebbiano Rosa, Verdusca and Moscatelli, while Vermentino Nero, Massaretta, Canaiolo, Malvasia Nera, Montepulciano and Ciliegiolo are the red ones. These varieties are the base of Terenzuola's Costa Toscana and Toscano IGT wines. Some Cinque Terre “vertical” (which have an extreme slope) fields have been added to the company's estate over the past few years: a total of 1 and a half hectare. Over here Terenzuola vineyards climb down towards Corniglia, between Costa di Posa and Valle dei Pozzi and reach the Sanctuary of Montenero which is situated above Riomaggiore, locations full of rare beauty and an iconic symbol of heroic viticolture. In these sites are grown Vermentino, Bosco and Albarola from which Cinque Terre PDO and Cinque Terre Sciacchetrà PDO are produced.
Terenzuola is a winery seated in Fosdinovo (MS) with a 22 hectares vineyard estate which develops across different areas of rare beauty, between Liguria and Tuscany. From Colli di Luni to the Candia fields lying in the shade of the marble quarries placed between Massa and Carrara, up to the heroic terraces in the Cinque Terre.
